  • About the property

Plas y Foel is a fantastic house for a large group of family and friends who are looking for somewhere to spend leisurely holidays on the Llyn Peninsula. There are spectacular sea views over both Abersoch and Porth Neigwl from the impressive dining room where bi-fold doors open onto the garden. On a warm summer’s day, there is nowhere better than the private heated swimming pool or hot tub, so you’d be forgiven for not wanting to venture out. However, Llanbedrog beach is just a few minutes’ drive away and the popular resort of Abersoch is only a little bit further.

  • The space

The house has two lounges to provide plenty of space to socialise all together or split off into smaller groups. One of the lounges has two sofas and chairs to seat everyone in comfort, while the panoramic sea views mean that you might not even want to switch on the 55" HDTV. However, with Sky and Netflix you’ll easily find something to keep you all entertained and if it’s chilly, there’s a wood burner ready to add an extra layer of warmth. The second lounge is smaller, but also has a Smart TV with Sky and Netflix, plus an array of games to play. French doors open up from both lounges to the outside space.

If you’re craving a quiet moment, you could always escape to the atrium of the house which is a light-filled area with huge glass windows and a skylight. Relax in the armchair and take a few moments to read a book or sip a coffee in peace.

The kitchen/dining room is the heart of the house and a great social space. Wall-to-wall bi-fold doors offer incredible panoramic views over the fields to the coast, Abersoch and Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth). In warm weather, open up the doors and allow your socialising to spill out into the rear garden. Here, there’s a patio area which is furnished with a table and chairs, a barbecue where you can cook up a feast and a fire pit so that you can enjoy the outdoors whatever the weather. There’s also an outdoor heated swimming pool, open from May to September (can be heated out of season at an additional cost), a hot tub and a changing and shower room. The garden is enclosed, and there is a selection of outdoor games for kids and adults to have fun with too.

Back indoors, there’s a dining table with chairs and bench seating for all 12 guests to sit comfortably, while the kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need to self-cater. There’s an electric, double oven and grill with a hot plate, a microwave and a fridge/freezer with an ice-maker, as well as little luxuries including a Nespresso coffee machine and a wine fridge, not forgetting that all-important dishwasher.

To keep things nice and tidy, there’s a scullery/utility room with an additional fridge, a freezer, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Off the room is a handy downstairs cloakroom with a WC, basin and a heated towel rail.

Two of the six bedrooms are on the ground floor. One has a super-king-size bed which can be made into two twin beds and an en-suite with a bath and shower over, while the other bedroom has two single beds with an en-suite with a bath.

The other four bedrooms are on the first floor. One has a king-size bed, one is a twin room with two single beds, whilst two are double bedrooms each with an en-suite shower room. All of the bedrooms have a TV, hairdryer and wardrobe space. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor.

At the front of the house, there is a garden area and driveway parking for up to 5 cars.

The neighbourhood

The house is located in the rural village of Mynytho on the southern Llyn Peninsula. Just a few minutes’ drive away is the lovely coastal village of Llanbedrog. Renowned for its sheltered bay it’s a lovely spot for families with young children to spend a day at the beach, while nature walks through the network of woodland and heathland paths are a delight. Whilst in the village, do also visit Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw, Wales’ oldest art gallery which is a treasure trove of culture and history.

The property is perfectly placed for exploring the miles of coastline and sandy beaches of the Llyn Peninsula. For plenty of facilities and things to do, head to the popular seaside resort of Abersoch, about 3 miles away. As well as a good range of convenience stores, pubs and restaurants, there are two sandy beaches, facilities for sailing and watersports and a links golf course to keep you busy, as well as a vibrant atmosphere. A little further along the coast is Pwllheli which offers even more choices of amenities and recreational activities including boat trips, as well as a renowned marina.

Getting around

We recommend a car for travelling to the property and ease of getting around. There is off-road parking for up to 5 cars.
