Set on the outskirts of a quiet, traditional village in the heart of the Peak District National Park, this place is great for a couple looking for countryside walks, breathtaking views and total relaxation. It’s part of a collection of renovated farm buildings situated at the end of a pretty treelined driveway and is surrounded by fields, yet the local pub is just a 5-minute stroll away. Hophouse Cottage Is a cosy hideaway for two to spend a few days, or even a week, enjoying the peaceful location and exploring the delightful towns and villages of the Derbyshire Peak District.
Step through the entrance hall and into the open-plan kitchen and living area. The modern kitchen has everything for two to self-cater including an oven, fridge, freezer box, toaster and microwave, plus there’s a washing machine and ironing facilities.
If you don’t feel like cooking, arrangements can be made for a local catering company to deliver to you, so that pretty much all you have to do is warm the food up. Or, you can book a personal chef to whip up a meal for a special occasion, or even to cook for you every day if you wish.
When you’re ready to eat, there’s a dining table for two and afterwards, you can relax together on the sofa in front of the TV. French doors lead from the living area to the cosy bedroom.
In the bedroom, there’s a comfortable bed with a deep king-size mattress and soft cotton sheets, hanging space for your clothes and a dressing table. There’s also a modern wet room with underfloor heating, a heated towel rail, a walk-in shower, WC and a solid oak sink unit with a granite top and basin.
The owners live on the site and are available to answer any questions you may have. However, there is a lockbox with a key to allow for a self-check-in. There are other holiday properties on the site and there is ample parking.

The local village of Foolow is about a 5-10-minute stroll away and is very pretty and peaceful with limestone houses, a duck pond and a pub that serves good local ales and food.
The nearest shops are approximately 3 miles away in Eyam. If you want more choice of places to eat and drink, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs in neighbouring villages and towns. Bakewell is just a 10-minute drive away and here foodies should check out the fine dining options at Fischer Baslow Hall, while history buffs should head to Chatsworth House. The spa town of Buxton is also a short drive, of about 20 minutes, and is a lovely place to explore.
If you’re looking for more action, activities including abseiling, rock-climbing, guided walks and cycling can be pre-arranged by the property owners. Please ask our Guest Services team for details.
