Serenity Retreat is a detached, oak-frame house situated in a secluded spot in the peaceful grounds of a 14-acre, family-owned luxury cottage estate in south Devon. If you’re looking for somewhere with plenty of wow factor, Serenity Retreat will not disappoint. There’s a luxurious amount of space, while highlights include a living area with two walls of windows that keep the incredible countryside views in sight, a private hot tub and a wraparound balcony. It’s the ideal place for socialising and relaxing in total tranquillity and can sleep up to 8 guests, plus 2 infants. It also has an accessibility rating of M1 and M2 from Visit England. Guests of all holiday cottages at the estate have access to luxurious facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a tennis court and children’s play areas. Meanwhile, the location is ideal for trips into Dartmoor National Park, stunning beaches and the waterside towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe.

Serenity Retreat enjoys a private setting yet is very close to the estate’s indoor swimming pool. It’s accessible too, with wheelchair access and an accessible bedroom with en-suite. (A wheelchair, ramp and shower chair are all available to borrow during your stay if required.) There’s also great WiFi and underfloor heating throughout the entire property.

There’s a large, enclosed porch, where you can hang up coats and store your walking boots, with the convenience of a WC just off it.

At the heart of the home is the impressive, contemporary, open-plan living/kitchen/dining area which is spacious and the perfect place to spend quality time together. It features limestone flooring, lofty oak-frame ceilings and huge windows to two sides that offer incredible views of the countryside.

There’s lots of room to spread out on the comfy sofas and watch a film on the Smart TV (with access to Amazon/Netflix) with a Sonos sound system too, while the feature Morso log burner will keep you nice and toasty. On warm days, open up the bifold doors and venture out onto the wraparound balcony.

The kitchen area is well-equipped with all the modern conveniences you will require to self-cater and you can easily chat the evening away over dinner at the dining table that seats 10 adults.

A separate utility room provides a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing board.

There are four bedrooms in total, all of which are light and spacious with luxurious touches. Bedroom one, on the ground floor, is the accessible bedroom with an en-suite and offers ease of access without compromising on design.

The other three bedrooms are on the lower ground floor and all benefit from doors that open onto the garden.

Bedroom two is the master and features a super-king-size bed and an en-suite shower room with a large shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail.

Bedroom three has a double bed (that is zip and link, so can be set up as two singles on request). It also has sole use of the luxurious main bathroom that has a walk-in shower and a deep soaking, designer bath.

Bedroom four has a super-king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and direct access to the hot tub and outside seating area.

There is room for a cot in both the master bedroom and bedroom four.

Outdoors there is a totally private garden, a wraparound balcony with a dining table and chairs, a BBQ area, a private hot tub and great views. There is also private parking for up to three cars in front of the house, with more spaces available in the estate’s general parking area.

You’ll also have access to the estate’s 14 acres of beautiful grounds, plus shared on-site facilities. These include an indoor swimming, an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, a tennis court and children’s play areas.

The door to the house will be open and the key will be on the table. The owners live at the site and are available during your stay should you need any assistance. The swimming pools, tennis court and play areas are shared facilities available to guests of all cottages at the site.

We plant a tree for every booking we make to help offset some of the carbon emissions generated by our stays.

Facilities at the site are unattended, so please supervise children at all times.

Hot tub: As the hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled after each booking, we cannot guarantee that your hot tub will be at its optimal operating temperature upon arrival.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £500 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive the requirement.
