Step through the front door and into the spacious stone floored dining area, beautifully appointed with exposed stone walls, reading material and a large dining table, ready and waiting to host a series of scrumptious feasts. Beyond the dining area is a modern, fully-equipped kitchen complete with pod coffee machine and induction hob, as well as all your usual amenities.

Latte in hand? Step out of the kitchen and into the sensational garden lounge, furnished with a duo of snuggly grey sofas. Downstairs you’ll also find a cosy family room and living room, both benefiting from a Smart TV, a soothing neutral colour scheme and a medley of original character features.

A winding stone staircase takes you from the main living area to the first wing of the cottage. There are two stunning bedrooms here, one of which features a king-size bed and another with a double bed. This wing is complete with a family bathroom with a deep bath and a large shower.

A separate staircase in the main entrance hall leads to the second wing. The master bedroom accommodates a comfy king-size bed complete and a charming Juliet balcony, welcoming you to admire the wonderful vistas outside. Along with this, there is one remaining bedroom with a double bed and a family bathroom with a bath.

If you weren’t spoiled enough already, the garden area presents much to be admired. Fully enclosed, take a moment to enjoy the great outdoors as you stroll across the patio area and onto the neatly gravelled oasis beyond. Complete with a peppering of pretty blooms and luscious evergreen shrubbery, the external space also boasts a BBQ, a pair of sun loungers, a designated dining area and rich, green lawn.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.

The cottage is located in the charming mediaeval village of Shilton, just a short distance from historic Burford. The Rose and Crown pub, which dates back to the 1600s, is a few steps away and boasts a scrumptious menu of locally sourced food.

Alternatively, if you’re in the mood for something extra special, exclusive fine dining spots can be found within 10 miles of the property. Albeit a fairly sleepy village for the most part, Shilton maintains a close community feel, which is echoed by the host of events held locally each year. Worth noting in the social calendar are the Easter egg rolling and duck race, the village summer fete, the garden open days in June and carol singing around the ford at Christmas time.
