A cosy and elegantly decorated cottage for two set in a private country estate near Newquay. It’s a wonderful place to unwind on your terrace or enjoy strolls around the stunning estate gardens.

Set on a secluded, 22-acre Cornish estate that dates to 1846, this cosy cottage for two is the perfect retreat for a romantic break. Spend leisurely days enjoying walks around the estate that has an ornamental lake, woods, orchards and a Victorian walled kitchen garden. Enjoy lunch or evening drinks out on your terrace or snuggle up beside the log burner and inglenook fireplace. You’ll find the countryside right on the doorstep, while the coast is just 3 miles away and is the gateway to beautiful beaches, many fantastic for surfing.

Originally a laundry room, this cottage was once where water was heated to wash the linen at the estate. That’s why you’ll find a huge, original, Tudor inglenook fireplace at the heart of the downstairs. With a wood-burning stove set into it, curling up beside it on a cold winter’s night is bliss.

Throughout, there is an elegant and simple country style with a warm and cosy feel. Along with the fireplace, the open-plan living area features a sofa, a Smart TV, a dining table and chairs for two, and a shaker-style kitchenette. There is also a washer/dryer, as well as high-speed WiFi.

Upstairs, there’s a bedroom with a king-size bed and views over one of the estate’s lawns, while the bathroom features a bath with a shower over, a WC and a sink.

Outside, there is a small terrace area with a table and chairs where you can catch some rays by day and savour drinks in the evening.

The owners will greet you on arrival and show you into the property.

Flowers and fruits may be available from the walled garden as arranged with the head gardener.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.

You are free to explore the estate grounds and gardens on your own, or a private tour with the head gardener can be arranged. Use of the tennis court is also available. Beauty treatments are available to book.

The property is located in north Cornwall, 3 miles from the coast and a short drive from Newquay. If you are looking for beaches, particularly for surfing, it’s a fantastic spot. Crantock to the west of Newquay, and Watergate Bay to the east, are within a 6-mile drive and offer excellent surfing with equipment for hire.
