A cosy bolthole for two, Fritillaria Cottage is a luxurious guest room housed in the former bakery of a pretty, country estate in the Vale of Glamorgan and overlooks the estate’s courtyard garden.
This luxurious, ground-floor room overlooks the rose garden in the inner courtyard of the estate and is a gorgeous cosy hideaway for two. Overflowing with character, original 18th century features include the striking walls and vaulted ceiling that are completely made up of exposed stone. It’s a true escape. Outside you can enjoy romantic strolls in the estate’s gardens and admire views of Glamorgan’s Heritage Coast. Meanwhile, days out can be enjoyed at local beaches, the Wales Coastal Path and the historic town of Cowbridge.

Brimming with history and character, original 18th century details include exposed stone walls, a vaulted ceiling and a small recess which used to house the original bread oven.

Luxurious furniture and furnishings incorporate a king-size bed dressed with fine linens, a dedicated desk area and a beautifully upholstered two-seater sofa that’s positioned to enjoy views of the estate’s courtyard garden.

A stylish, bespoke partition leads to the luxury en-suite shower room that has a walk-in, rainfall shower.

Whilst there aren’t kitchen facilities or a dining area, there is a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary tea, coffee and milk provided.

You will also have access to a separate shared laundry room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board situated in the outer courtyard. Meanwhile, the estate’s 9 acres of gardens and grounds are perfect for a quiet stroll, a picnic or admiring the sunset over the sea in the distance.

There is a key safe where you can access the key to the property for a self-check-in.

The estate grounds and gardens are communal and are available to guests of the manor house and all the apartments and cottages at the site.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £300 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.

Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you're legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.

The property is part of a country estate with a Georgian Grade II* listed Manor House and 9 acres of grounds. You are welcome to take a walk around, explore and ‘meet’ the resident alpacas, sheep, chickens and ducks.

Situated in the Vale of Glamorgan, the property is close to fantastic country and coastal walks including the short walk to the pebbly beach of Limpert Bay. From here there are spectacular views across the Bristol Channel to Exmoor and Minehead.
