Housed in an annexe within the grounds of the owners’ family home, once the home of Dunkirk hero Admiral Sir William George Tennant, and also the Morgan family of motoring fame, Hidden Hayloft is a little gem. Access via a private front door, off a private courtyard, assures privacy, whilst the vaulted ceilings and white walls add to the feeling of space.
Decoration throughout is unfussy and contemporary with details including quirky printed lampshades, cowhide rugs and vintage wooden storage crates amongst the things that give it a bespoke feel.
In the bedroom you’ll find a king-size bed, with a zip and link mattress that can be converted into two singles, giving flexibility for a couple or two friends. There is also a delightful feature fireplace. A further double bed or twin beds can be set up in the lounge area, to sleep up to four guests in total, making the hayloft a great space for a small family too.
The lounge area is spacious and features a large comfortable sofa, bean bag seat, daybed and smart TV. The open plan layout incorporates a high table with two stools for dining, and there is a kitchen area beyond it. The kitchen features a microwave and plug-in hob so is best suited to fixing breakfast, snacks and simple meals, rather than anything more complicated.
Outside, there is a courtyard garden with a patio table and seating for four people, so if you fancy lunch or a glass of wine in the evening al fresco, it’s a serene place to unwind.
