This lovely farmhouse is cosy and inviting. Perfect for a family group, the cottage is a lovely blend of traditional style including a farmhouse kitchen and oak beamed ceilings, as well as modern touches and plenty of home comforts like a log burner that makes it easy to relax from the moment you walk in. With breath-taking views of the Cambrian Mountains all around, it’s a very peaceful setting to spend a few days or an entire week. Bwthyn is part of a family-owned holiday cottage site set in 13 acres of private grounds with pretty walks through woodlands and wildflower meadows straight from your door. There’s also access to the on-site barbecue area and the shared hot tub, plus a private chef can be hired to cook family favourites ready for your return after a day out in the fresh country air
A Gothic-style arched front door leads into a porch where traditional stable doors open up to the spacious dining area with a farmhouse dining table and plenty of room for all 12 of you to dine comfortably. Next to the dining room is the bespoke kitchen with wooden units and quality appliances including a Neff oven and grill, as well as an American fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Conveniently placed next to the kitchen is a utility room that doubles up as a boot room and has a walk-in airing cupboard which is great for storing your coats and wellies.
In the lounge, you’ll find bold colours against a backdrop of neutral walls and a cosy feel with plenty of cushions and throws for snuggling up, ambient lighting and a feature fireplace with a log burner set into a 100-year-old Welsh slate plinth. It’s a great place to gather and catch up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV, or break out the snacks and drinks and chat into the early hours.
There are five bedrooms in total, all with a view of the green landscapes outside. The ground floor bedroom, which is wheelchair-friendly, sleeps two in a super-king-size bed, while a French door leads to a level path around the house. Upstairs there are four more bedrooms. Bedroom 2 sleeps three in a super-king-size bed and a single bed; Bedroom 3 sleeps two in twin beds; Bedroom 4 sleeps two in a super-king-size bed and Bedroom 5 sleeps three in a super-king-size bed and a single, this bedroom also has an en-suite toilet and washbasin.
The house also has two bathrooms: the family bathroom on the first floor has a bath, perfect for soaking away aching limbs after a long walk, while on the ground floor there is a shower room.
The owners will welcome you on arrival and show you to your holiday cottage. There is ample parking at the site.
The holiday cottage site features low voltage LED lighting, a computer-controlled biomass central heating and water heating system, and efficient log burners with locally sourced logs or timber from the estate. There is also a biodisc biological sewerage system and a UV filtration system to reduce the use of chemicals, whilst cleaning products are environmentally friendly. Toiletries are supplied from a local social enterprise company and there is an extensive recycling programme too.
The garden is not completely enclosed which is worth bearing in mind if you are staying with young children or dogs.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.
Accidental damage deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 prior to their stay. An advance payment of 3% of the rental price can be made to waive this requirement.
Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you're legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.

The holiday cottage is located in the county of Ceredigion and is a great place from which to explore Mid, North and South Wales. Being at the heart of the majestic Cambrian Mountains it is conveniently located for day trips into Snowdonia National Park or the Brecon Beacons National Park and is perfectly placed for enjoying fresh air, amazing scenery and nature.
Even without leaving the holiday cottage site, you may see woodpeckers, Red Kites, dragonflies, squirrels and hares along the nature trail that winds through unspoilt meadows and woodland. Or travel just 5 miles to the historic Hafod Estate for a stroll along restored walks across beautiful landscapes dotted with bridges and waterfalls. There are many nature reserves in the area and plenty of ways to watch wildlife including dolphin-spotting trips along the Ceredigion Coast or visiting the Red Kite feeding station at Bwlch Nant yr Arian.
A host of adventure activities to suit all ages can be arranged for you at this property and include bushcraft experiences, canoe tours along the River Teifi, white water rafting and coasteering.
There’s a variety of other attractions nearby too, including the Vale of Rheidol Railway where you can take a scenic train journey and Devil’s Bridge Falls where you can learn about the legend of Devil’s Bridge.
A car is strongly advised for getting to this holiday cottage and exploring the local countryside with ease. However, the nearest train station is Aberystwyth which is about 10 miles away.
