Reivers Lodge combines two apartments, Sir Walter Scott and Engineer whose entrances share a private corridor. It’s a fantastic solution for a family or group holiday where everyone likes to be able to retreat to their own space after spending the day exploring the Cumbrian countryside and Carlisle together. The apartments are part of a beautifully renovated collection of holiday properties housed in a wing that adjoins a stunning mansion of a private country estate. Both apartments are immaculately styled and feature original wooden ceiling beams and a cosy log burner, while the estate parkland is perfect for a relaxing stroll. When you fancy a treat, the local fine dining pub offers a superb tasting menu and, even better, there’s a complimentary transfer with every meal booked.

A member of staff will greet you on arrival and show you into the properties, which are located in relatively close proximity to other apartments and cottages in a wing off the mansion house. Alternatively, a self-check can be arranged if required. The estate grounds and walled garden are available to guests of all the apartments and cottages at the site.

The estate’s kitchen garden supplies salad and micro vegetables to the nearby fine dining pub. Biomass heating is used in the apartments and the glasshouses, while other crops that require warmth, such as tomatoes, aubergines and peppers, are grown in season.
