Netherby Hall offers nine luxury apartments and cottages set within a stunning 36-acre private country estate in Cumbria that can be booked together for an extra special occasion with friends or family.
Netherby Hall is a collection of nine luxury apartments and cottages set within the 36-acre private estate of a Grade II*-listed mansion house in north Cumbria. It’s a superb property if you’re looking for flexible accommodation to host a large family gathering or a special catch up with close friends. Most properties are housed within a renovated wing (that includes the Victorian stable block) that adjoins the mansion, where the owners reside. However, two of the cottages, one being the stunning former gatehouse, are a few minutes’ walk from the main building which gives options for anyone who needs more privacy. Each property features original ceiling beams, has a cosy log burner, and is decorated in a contemporary style. Some also have special highlights, such as the delightful views of the kitchen garden from Gardeners Cottage. You’ll also benefit from having the estate parkland all to yourselves, perfect for walks together to blow the cobwebs away and build up an appetite for lunch.

The owners or a member of staff will greet you on arrival. All properties are located in relatively close proximity in a wing off the mansion, apart from two of the cottages that are detached. Alternatively, a self-check can be arranged if required. The estate grounds and walled garden are available to guests of all the apartments and cottages at the site.

The estate’s kitchen garden supplies salad and micro vegetables to the nearby fine dining pub. Biomass heating is used to heat all properties across the estate and in the glasshouses, while other crops that require warmth, such as tomatoes, aubergines and peppers, are grown in season.
