Gorse Cottage is an eco-friendly getaway set in the peaceful countryside with a pretty burn (stream) running through the garden. Enjoy a beautiful open-plan living space with a handcrafted kitchen, a lounge that is made for relaxing and a large, enclosed garden with stunning views. Should you wish to venture beyond the estate, the wonderful town of Crieff, with its abundant shops and restaurants, is close by, or you can discover Perthshire’s dramatic hillsides, lochs and woodlands.

Set over one floor, this delightful cottage is adorned with handcrafted fixtures and designs, while the quirky and colourful décor create a homely atmosphere throughout.

Upon entering the property, there is an open-plan hallway with a handy WC and plenty of space to store your coats and boots after a day in the countryside. Meanwhile, the bespoke, William Morris green kitchen features everything you should need to self-cater with ease. You will have access to an electric oven and induction hob, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, washing machine and a coffee machine, plus a dining table.

The living room is a pretty space with Titley and Marr curtains, antique furniture, a bespoke bookcase (not pictured), spacious sofa and comfy armchair with a wood-burning stove. There is a Smart TV, board games and a selection of books for you to read throughout your stay.

There is one bright and spacious bedroom with a super-king-size bed, ample storage space with a bespoke fitted wardrobe and a desk that is ideal for remote working or useful as a dressing table too. Next door is the luxuriously modern bathroom with underfloor heating, a walk-in shower and a double-ended bath and fluffy bath robes.

Outside, you will have your own enclosed garden with seating and a large lawn with views across the rolling fields and hills beyond.

Guests will receive arrival information in their guest pack. The owners live close by and are on-hand if needed.

The cottage is powered entirely using 100% renewable energy and the drinking water is sourced from the local spring.

One travel cot and high chair can be provided.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Good Housekeeping Deposit of £75 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.

Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you are legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.

The neighbourhood

The cottage is set in the hamlet of Monzie, on a 4,500-acre farming estate, with walks from the door. While nature-lovers should keep their eyes peeled for local wildlife including red squirrels, hares, red kites and deer. Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that there are an abundance of excellent courses in the area including the Gleneagles Golf Courses, Crieff Golf Club and for those looking for a quick nine holes, the Foulford Course is a mile away.

The market town of Crieff is just 6 minutes away and known for its fantastic choice of restaurants and cafes, with the closest being Glenturret Distillery and Michelin Starred Lalique Restaurant. The Glenturret Distillery is well worth a visit and offers the opportunity to learn the handcrafting process of whisky production, they also have an excellent café, which makes a nice walk from the house. Drummond Castle Gardens is also a short distance as well as Innerpeffray Library, Scotland’s oldest lending library.
