Sunny Spring Day In Moreton-in-Marsh

Luxury Cottages Moreton-in-Marsh

Nowhere does cottage holidays quite like the Cotswolds. Famous for their typically English landscapes and golden stonewall villages, the region is steeped in whimsical charm.

The Gloucestershire town of Moreton-in-Marsh is surrounded by stately homes, gardens and monuments to ramble to. As it’s relatively flat compared to other villages, there are walks for all abilities. You could easily while away a morning pottering around the high street alone, switching between tearooms and craft shops.

And pooches needn’t miss out when with our selection of dog-friendly cottages to choose from.

Batsford Arboretum, Moreton-in-Marsh

The Best Things to Do in Moreton-In-Marsh

The Batsford Arboretum loop is a great first ramble to get you acquainted with Moreton-in-Marsh. The easy version of this walk takes around two hours to complete, one hour each way. You’ll find some of the world’s most beautiful and rare trees growing in the arboretum’s 60 acres of gardens – including the national collection of Japanese Flowering Cherries. When you’re ready to head home, circle back via the picturesque Batsford village.

After something more challenging? Take the Great View Over Blockley loop. This hike involves steep inclines, but the reward is far-reaching views across the Blockley Downs. It takes around five and a half hours to complete, so pack some snacks.

For families looking for things to do, the Cotswold Falconry and Cotswold Archery are both within walking distance or minutes away in the car. And of course, there’s no shortage of pubs, restaurants and bakeries when you need to refuel.

Cottages with Log Fires in Moreton-In-Marsh

Cosying up in front of a crackling fire is the perfect end to a day out in the fresh air. When you book one of our cottages, we’ll always make sure you’re well stocked with fresh logs so all you need to do is strike a match and relax as that nostalgic smell of wood burning fills the room. The log fires inside our properties are regularly cleaned and checked to ensure they’re safe to enjoy. However, we can’t stop little fingers or noses touching a log burner which can get very hot when in use, so do take care.
