The Eden Valley is a stunning area in Cumbria between the Lake District and the northern Pennines. With rolling countryside and the salmon and trout-rich River Eden at its heart, it attracts walkers, cyclists and fishing enthusiasts alike. Plus, the famous Settle to Carlisle heritage railway line runs through the Eden Valley.

In between riverside walks and scenic train rides, there are traditional towns and quaint sandstone villages to discover. Together they offer history, shopping opportunities and places to sit down and enjoy a meal made from local produce. The market town of Penrith is the gateway to the Eden Valley, while other historic towns include Appleby-in-Westmoreland – both have fantastic castles.
