About the propertyWhether you seek the thrill of an adrenaline-fuelled adventure, or tranquil walks through lush, green glens, Jackdaw Lodge provides an elegant place to stay that’s unmistakably Scottish. Decorated in traditional Highland style with tartan sofas and wood panelled walls, along with gorgeous views of Loch Dochart and Ben More from your patio, it’s an excellent cabin for a family holiday in the heart of some of Scotland’s finest countryside.
The spaceJackdaw Lodges' design has been well thought out to provide all the modern conveniences you and your family will require, as well as some space for everyone to have their own quiet time when needed.
The heart of the cabin is the open-plan living area which has a pitched ceiling and a wood burning stove, and comprises the kitchen, dining and lounge areas. It’s great for the family to gather together without feeling on top of each other, yet is a cosy place to chat, watch TV or play games.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you’d expect on a self-catering family holiday, as well as gadgets that make life easier including a sandwich toaster and a food processor. Next to the kitchen is the dining area with a table and chairs for enjoying leisurely meals together.
When it comes to the sleeping arrangements there is one double room with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room, while the second bedroom has two single beds. Both rooms have plenty of fitted wardrobe space to put away your clothes and other bits and pieces. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and power shower over.
From the living area there is a sliding door that leads out to a private patio with garden furniture where you can sip your morning tea whilst admiring the incredible views over the loch. Or, you can fire up the gas barbecue (available upon request) and cook up a family feast, which is the perfect way to graze during lazy days spent at the cabin.
Guest accessOn arrival at the privately-owned estate on which the cabin is located, there is a reception area for check-in, before driving on to Jackdaw where there is space to park your car.
SustainabilityJackdaw Lodge features programmable, electric, low-energy heating to help reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
The estate attracts wildlife including pine martens and red squirrels, and actively works to protect local nature and habitats through projects such as putting up bat boxes.
You can take part in the estate’s sustainability programme by depositing food waste into composting bins and recycling plastics, card and glass. You can also buy bird food from the on-site shop to fill up feeders and encourage feathered friends, and you can even donate to adopt a tree which will be planted in a place of your choice.
Check-in: After 16:00
Keep in mind
Gas canisters for the barbecue are available at an extra cost.
