Most famous for the Gothic Whitby Abbey, the inspiration for the story of Dracula, Whitby is fantastic for sightseers. Back in town, many shops offer a nod to the count, while others specialise in gifts made from local Whitby jet.

Other attractions include the Captain Cook Memorial Museum. However, if it’s the beaches that are calling you, grab some of the town’s legendary fish and chips and admire the beach huts along West Cliff Beach.
