Hidden away on a picturesque, quiet and unspoilt part of the Cornish coast, is a lovely resort that’s the perfect place to experience laid-back, coastal life. There are 15 beach houses here and Salt Water Two Beach Houses are great for a couple, two couples or a family who are looking for the right balance of social and private space. It’s easy to disconnect from the pressures of everyday life and the three-mile stretch of beaches along St Ives Bay, that offer opportunities for adventures from water sports to wildlife-spotting, begin just a 5 to 10-minute walk away. Back at the beach house, relax in the open-plan, living area or unwind on your decked area which boasts a private hot tub and barrel sauna. If you don’t feel like cooking, head to the on-site restaurant, or when you crave an adventure, you can book experiences including a private surfing lesson.

Please note, there is building work taking place from November to February, working hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. None of the properties will be affected during this time.

Salt Water Two Beach Houses are bright and airy, and at the heart of the house there’s a large, open-plan kitchen/dining/ living area which is a great social space for chatting and laughter. Curl up on the sofa and watch a movie, warm up in front of the cosy log burner or enjoy dinner together at the dining table. Meanwhile, the kitchen has a breakfast bar with stools to seat up to four guests, which is the ideal spot to chat together with a drink in hand while meals are being prepared. It’s also well-equipped with a double oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher.

These beach houses sleep four guests in two bedrooms, but there is an option for an extra child to be accommodated on the mezzanine level. The master bedroom has a super-king-size bed and an en-suite shower room, while the second bedroom can either be set up with a super-king-size bed or two single beds and has a mezzanine level where one extra child can sleep on the futon bed. There is also a separate bathroom with a bath, a walk-in shower, a WC and a basin. Plus, there is an additional WC in the hall.

Outside, on the private decked area that measures 139 square-metres, there is plenty of space to enjoy laid-back living. Relax in the private sunken hot tub or the barrel sauna, then cook up a leisurely lunch on the BBQ.

Beach towels, robes, bed linen and luxury toiletries are provided, along with a range of cleaning products and kitchen essentials. Additionally, buckets and spades, fishing nets, bats and ball, beach cricket, a football, a frisbee, and a windbreak are all included in your stay, ensuring that your day at the beach will be filled with fun.

There is parking for 2 to 3 cars at the beach house.

Food and drink

There’s a fantastic on-site restaurant and bar open all year round for guests. From April – October, you can dine in, take away or request a delivery to your holiday home, while November – March is home delivery only.

A private chef service is available where a chef will come to your beach house with everything needed to cook a barbecued feast, a five-course tasting menu or whatever you desire (a minimum spend applies).

Pizza parties

An Ooni pizza oven, plus a hamper of fresh pizza ingredients, will be dropped off to you so you can whip up tasty pizzas in minutes. The perfect combination of good food and good fun.

Surf lessons

Small group surf lessons are available, or a private one-to-one or family session can be booked. You can upgrade your lesson with tuition from the Head Coach or opt for water photography and videography to create a wonderful record of your lesson.

Water sports and beach equipment

A range of water sports equipment and beach equipment is available to hire including bodyboards, surf boards, stand-up paddleboards, fins, wetsuits, a beach volleyball set, a cool box, a beach parasol and a speaker and solar charger.

Other outdoor experiences

Book a guided coasteering experience for a fun and adrenaline-filled way of exploring local caves and gullies. For a gentler pursuit, there’s the wild foraging walk where you will learn all about nature’s larder and what’s safe to eat. In addition, you can hire fishing rods and tackle for a fishing trip, or a telescope to explore the night sky from the comfort of your beach house.

Baby pack

If you are travelling with your baby, you can make life easier by pre-booking the baby pack to save you bringing a potty, toilet seat and step, changing mat, baby bath, bottle steriliser and bottle warmer with you. A high chair and cot are also available on request and these are free of charge.

The Street Food truck and bar is a communal space available to all guests at the resort. It sells a range of snacks, sides, desserts and drinks. There’s an outdoor dining area or you can pre-book the delivery service to dine in the comfort of your beach house.

Access to your beach house is through a key code which will be provided to you prior to arrival.

We plant a tree for every booking we make to help offset some of the carbon emissions generated by our stays.

There are steps down to the beach.

Please note that construction will take place at the site until the end of March 2024. The existing beach houses will still be available during and the site itself is fenced and enclosed by oak sleepers so little or no visual impact is expected. Every effort has been taken to prevent disruption to visitors but unavoidably there is the potential of noise from construction as well as traffic coming in and out. The beach houses most likely to experience disruption will be taken off sale whilst building work is taking place.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Hot tub: As the hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled after each booking, we cannot guarantee that your hot tub will be at its optimal operating temperature upon arrival.

The neighbourhood

The property is located at Gwithian Towans beach on St Ives Bay in Cornwall. The nearest supermarket is on the outskirts of the town of Hayle, while the centre of Hayle has more supermarkets and local shops where you can stock up on groceries.

Gwithian Towans is a quiet Cornish beach set along a sweeping 3-mile stretch of beautiful, sandy shoreline edged by dramatic cliffs and sand dunes. It’s also part of the South West Coast Path, so if you like walking or all things coastal, you’ll love it here. If you have your dog with you, many of the beaches are dog-friendly, although some have restrictions at certain times of the year.
