Orchard Cottage is a stunning, traditional cottage set in a four-acre site with spectacular views overlooking the Menai Strait to the impressive Bangor Pier, Penrhyn Castle and the Snowdonia mountain range. You will have access to a private orchard with beautiful surrounding woodland, along with sea views that will take your breath away. Inside, the cottage is decorated with a harmonious blend of contemporary décor and original charm with that home from home feeling. Should you wish to explore the area, Anglesey Coastal Path is within easy reach, whilst the nearby towns of Menai Bridge and Beaumaris are perfect for sightseeing, boat trips and fine dining.

The cottage begins with a bright and spacious living room paving the way with underfloor heating, two large sofas and an inviting log burner that sits in the original fireplace. The property is south facing and enjoys the sunshine throughout the day through the traditional sash window and glazed door.

Next door, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to prepare delicious feasts, including a dishwasher, microwave, gas cooker and a fridge/freezer, while the dining table comfortably seats four.

Moving upstairs there are three comfortable bedrooms with new oak beds and furniture. All bedrooms are open into the eaves with the beams exposed to give a sense of character and space. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and luxury bed linen from which you can gaze on the same beautiful scenery. Both single rooms have quality sprung coil and memory foam mattresses on solid oak frames, along with a wardrobe, bedside chest and a sweet velvet chair. The new spacious modern shower room comprises walk-in shower, WC, basin, bidet, heated towel rail and mirror lighting.

Outside, there is plenty of space for entertaining in your own private sunny orchard garden with uninterrupted, elevated views of the North Wales Coast and Snowdonia Mountains and a BBQ for the perfect alfresco meal.

Guests will be greeted by the owners on arrival. There is ample parking accessed via a moderately steep driveway. A stay at Orchard Cottage also includes access to four acres of grounds that include terraced lawns, a patio area, a wildlife pond, a woodland and more of those stunning coastal views.

Orchard Cottage benefits from internal insulation, underfloor heating (that is 25% more efficient than radiators) and passive solar gain due to its south-facing aspect. The owners have recently installed the largest domestic solar panel array in North Wales, achieving carbon-neutral status. Harvested rainwater is used in the garden, while water from the well feeds the wildlife pond and outdoor tap. Containers for recycling paper, glass, metal, plastic and food waste are provided, while reusable shopping bags are supplied in case you forget yours.

We plant a tree for every booking we make to help offset some of the carbon emissions generated by our stays.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive the requirement.

Located between the towns of Beaumaris and Menai Bridge in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Orchard Cottage is perfectly placed to enjoy the beaches of Anglesey and the striking mountain landscapes of Snowdonia. It is also within walking distance of a village shop and the Gazelle Pub which is set on the waterfront and renowned for its quality food. There are supermarkets and a range of great restaurants in both Menai Bridge and Beaumaris a few miles away.

The coastal path can be accessed from close by so that you can enjoy long walks filled with fresh sea air, while cyclists will find two of the UK’s nine cycle routes within easy reach.

Beaumaris is a stunning town where you can stroll along the Victorian Pier, tuck into a picnic on the beach or savour a Welsh Cake at one of the tea shops. History lovers should also visit Beaumaris Castle that dates back to the 13th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meanwhile, Beaumaris Gaol is a wonderful museum and has a fine example of a treadmill that was once used by prisoners for pumping water to the top floor cells.

Anglesey and the Snowdonia National Park offer so much more. Adventurers should visit Zip World for trips along high zip wires or thrills on underground trampolines in the slate caverns or ride the waves at the artificial lagoon at Surf Snowdonia. Gentler pursuits include days out on the Snowdonia Mountain Railway or at the beautiful wild beach of Newborough Warren.

Getting around

We recommend travelling by car so that you can easily explore the local area. There is private off-street parking for four cars at the property.
The A55 Coast Road and the main London to Holyhead Railway makes travelling around the stunning North Wales scenery a treat in itself.
