Outdoor communal area

Imagined and designed by award-winning landscape gardener, Mark Grehan, the communal outdoor area has been built with the intent to bring guests together. An opportunity to truly appreciate those breathtaking sea and mountain vistas, retreat to this perfectly-manicured space and relish a momentary escape from village life.
A celebration of nature’s beauty, each and every detail has been carefully considered to honour the local surroundings. Flora and fauna sourced from Connemara have been added to the garden, with the addition of excavated local stone inciting an authentic touch of history.

A member of the Guest Relation team will be on site to greet you if you arrive before 6pm. If you arrive after 6pm the key will be left in a key box outside with clear instructions and the show around of the property will take place in the morning.

During the renovation project, the owners collaborated with local craftspeople and used sustainable materials to preserve the building's architectural heritage whenever possible. They made deliberate choices for every aspect of the project, including working with suppliers like Inish Living, who offer the Tencel Lyocell Bed Linen range made sustainably from wood pulp. Additionally, the pottery in each kitchen is handmade by local potter Seamus Laffan, based at the end of the village who you can visit daily with his potter’s wheel, allowing you to purchase his wares to take home as souvenirs.

We plant a tree for every booking we make to help offset some of the carbon emissions generated by our stays.

Location

The neighbourhood

Often referred to as Ireland’s most picturesque village, Roundstone lies on the western arm of Bertraghboy Bay in Connemara, approximately 48 miles from the bustling metropolis of Galway City, also known as the prettiest village in Ireland according to Condé Nast in 2022.

There is a collection of four pubs in the village, one next door serving food (closed November and January), Vaughans (open April to October), Kings open year-round for drinks only, and O’Dowds open year round serving both food and drink.
