The Best Things to Do in the Wye Valley

From gentle country rambles to challenging hikes, Wye Valley is a walkers’ paradise with something for every ability. With so many links to film and TV series, there’s even a film trail where you can spot the backdrops to Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Star Wars, to name a few.

Just across the river is Hereford city with its fabulous 11th century cathedral, museums, shops, restaurants and riverside walks. And in Ross-on-Wye, kids will love roaming the ruins of Goodrich Castle.

To the north of Wye Valley lies the Black and White Village trail, a 40-mile circular route through timber-framed medieval settlements, many of which are in the Domesday book. The trail is well signposted and you can pick it up at any point either by foot, bike or car.
