Mill House

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by the character and charm of its ancient past. Original mill cogs and grinding stones are striking focal points, blending seamlessly with contemporary interiors to create a home where old meets new. The stone hallway leads to a handy oak boot-room with coat hooks and storage space - a warm, practical welcome after countryside walks. A downstairs cloakroom surprises with striking wallpaper and vintage mirrors.

The handmade kitchen is a true showpiece, receiving glowing feedback for its craftsmanship and design. Perfectly equipped for everything from relaxed breakfasts to celebratory suppers, it flows into a generous dining area centred around a 10-seater table. Two inviting living spaces share a double-sided wood-burning stove, with deep, sink-in sofas ideal for gathering after a day exploring the valley.

Upstairs and downstairs, the five king-size en-suite bedrooms each have their own distinctive personality, thoughtfully designed to reflect both the house’s history and its surroundings. Sage takes its name from the soft green tiles of its bathroom and offers peaceful meadow views. Wren, compact and perfectly formed, and is finished with gentle blue bathroom tiles. Rosalind brings warmth and joy with yellow-painted walls and a pink-tiled bathroom, looking out over the Acer tree and paddocks. At the gable end of the house, Agnes is a serene retreat above the herb garden, complete with a writing desk and windows framing both meadow and riverside views. Finally, Moss, set at garden level for easy access, is cool and calming in tone, with a walk-in shower and wall markings that reveal where the mill’s great wheel once stood.

Outside, a beautifully designed arbour by the orchard apple trees provides a charming spot for alfresco dining and gatherings. A fire pit invites starlit evenings, while the handcrafted Heartwood Sauna, outdoor shower and river steps offer spa-like indulgence. Guests can explore the 3-acre conservation area and enjoy miles of private walking paths through fields and woodland.

Piggeries

Once home to cart horses, pigs and sheep, Piggeries has been thoughtfully transformed into a rustic yet stylish gathering space. Accessed via a covered walkway from Mill House, this brick-lined building with its original stone floor retains a timeless charm. A wood-burning stove forms the heart of a generous dining area and bar, ideal for feasts or evening celebrations.

For rest and rejuvenation, a dedicated treatment room provides a serene hideaway, complete with soft towels and a massage table. Whether booking a private therapist or enjoying peaceful solitude, it’s designed for wellness and restoration.
