Glenshee House retains many of its original Georgian features including open fires and an array of large reception rooms where everyone can find ways to relax, stay entertained or socialise.
The Drawing Room has comfy sofa seating and a lovely open fire making it the perfect place to curl up with a good book. With views over the grounds to admire and a baby grand piano longing to be played, this is also a great backdrop for sophisticated soirees or social singalongs.
If you’d prefer to watch TV, the Sitting Room has Sky TV with Sky Sports, as well as a DVD player and a cosy open fire. Or there’s the Play Room which doubles as a Movie Room with Sky TV, DVD player, a Nintendo Wii console and a range of games and books suitable for all ages.
When it comes to day-to-day living, there’s a large, kitchen fully equipped with everything from a two-oven Aga, plus an electric double oven, three fridges, two dishwashers, a coffee machine and an ice machine. However, if you don’t feel like cooking, a catering service can be arranged including hearty meals cooked by the estate manager and owner. Off the kitchen there’s a utility/boot room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and space to hang wet coats, as well as a cloakroom with WC. There’s also a formal Dining Room and a more informal Breakfast Room.
Upstairs, on the first floor there’s a master bedroom and a double bedroom, both with an en-suite bathroom, as well as another double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. All beds in these rooms can be split into two singles if preferred. There are two more double bedrooms, a single room, a bunk room and a triple room (that can be set up as a double and one single if preferred), as well as two family bathrooms.
Meanwhile, on the top floor there are two more double bedrooms, each with a bed that can be split into two singles and each with an en-suite shower room.
The outside space is vast and set up so that everyone can relax and have fun. There’s a lawned area with a 6-hole putting green and croquet sets and even a children’s adventure playground with swings, a see-saw and a trampoline. Meanwhile, the patio area is a lovely space with garden sofas, parasols, a BBQ and a long table and chairs for dining alfresco.
As a guest of Glenshee House, you’ll also have use of a small rowing boat for exploring the loch, two fishing rods for fishing for trout in the loch and one rod for salmon fishing in a stretch of the River Shee that borders the estate.
