  • About the property

    Hay Bale Cottage is one of four luxury holiday homes set within the owners’ peaceful and picturesque farm. This stunning cottage has everything you need for a relaxing staycation in the countryside, including an open-plan living space and a private wood-fired hot tub. Not forgetting your four-legged friends, the owners have considered everything your pooch will need during your stay, including towels, bowls and a handy dog wash, complete with shampoo and treats to get their tails wagging.

  • The space

    This two-storey cottage has been carefully designed with contemporary décor, underfloor heating and original features throughout.

    The property begins with an open-plan kitchen/diner, featuring restored wooden beams, exposed brick walls and delightful artwork. Complete with a rustic four-seater dining table and a stylish kitchen with a breakfast bar, this space is perfect for socialising and preparing delicious feasts after a day of exploring. The kitchen comprises a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a kettle, an electric hob, an oven, a coffee machine and a dishwasher.

    Rearing off the kitchen, you will also have access to a utility room and WC, complete with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
    There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one with a king-size bed, an en-suite with a bath and a Smart TV. The other bedroom comprises a super-king bed (which can be split into two twin beds if required), a Smart TV and an en-suite with a shower. Both bedrooms have been designed with calming colour tones and complementary patterns, making for the perfect place to relax and take in the views.

    As you venture up the stairs to the first floor, you are greeted by an open-plan living space with original flooring, vaulted ceiling, rustic wooden beams and a gorgeous log burner. Settle down on the comfortable Chesterfield sofa as you immerse yourself in a movie on the Smart TV or open the Juliet balcony doors and admire the idyllic views with a glass of wine in hand.

    To the rear of the cottage, there is a beautiful private garden and terrace, fully enclosed for your four-legged friends to explore. There is also a unique wood-fired hot tub, a rattan patio set and a BBQ, perfect for socialising and dining alfresco.

    At the front of the property, you will have access to two designated parking spaces and a shared courtyard, which can be used by all guests staying on the farm. There is a comfortable garden furniture set, a play area and an outdoor dog wash, ideal for mucky paws after a stroll through the countryside.

    Hampers: Celebrating a special occasion during your stay? There are five luxurious hampers to choose from, all containing locally sourced, freshly produced items, making the perfect accompaniment for a stay on the farm.

    Outdoor Activities: From Archery to Bushcraft, unveil your adventurous side with the exciting on-site activities. A local company will bring the equipment needed to the farm so you can have your own private experience.

    Private Dining: Indulge in a 3 Course Fine Dining experience or a Tasting Menu, carefully prepared by a private chef in the comfort of your cottage. Wine to accompany each course can also be arranged.

    You will drive through electric gates upon arrival and your key will be in the door of the property.

  • Sustainability

    The property has adopted many environmentally friendly measures including a biomass boiler, a wood-fired hot tub using local and recycled timber, refillable toiletries to avoid plastic waste and the restoration of original materials throughout.

    If you would like to offset the carbon emissions from your trip, get in touch and we can arrange this for a small fee.

    The cottage is located on a working farm with livestock. Therefore, your dogs must be kept on a lead. Upon arrival, the owner will notify you of designated areas available for you to walk your dogs.

    Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

    Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.

    Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you are legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.

The cottage is located on the owners’ farm in the heart of Worcestershire, surrounded by rolling fields and stunning countryside walks. If you love exploring, there are plenty of local hiking trails to discover, or you can hop on two wheels and enjoy the picturesque cycling paths.

The nearest dog-friendly pub is The Holt Fleet just a mile away, serving home-cooked meals beside the River Severn. If you want to try some fresh, local produce during your stay, head over to Broomfield of Holt, a beautiful farm shop with local meats, wines, beers and cakes.

Fancy a tipple? Piston Gin School is just 8 miles away and is perfect for a fun day out with friends. You will discover the history of gin, learn the process of distilling, select your own botanicals and create your very own bottle to take away with you. You will also get a few tasters along the way.

For more family-friendly days out, the famous Severn Valley Railway, West Midlands Safari Park and Cadbury World are just a short drive away. If you are after a real adventure, head to the Wyre Forest where you can rush through the trees on a zip wire at Go Ape.

If you want to venture further afield, the cottage is equidistant from the pretty Cotswold village of Broadway, the cathedral city of Hereford and Cheltenham spa town, all under 50 minutes away.

Due to the rural location, a car is essential for travelling to the property and ease of getting around.
