Cotswolds Wildlife Park and Gardens has been voted the ‘Most Dog Friendly Day Out in the UK’ by the Kennel Club more than once, so your dog will definitely be welcome.
Many outdoor areas are accessible to dogs, (but they must be kept on a short lead and be supervised). Together, enjoy a walk to see animals including penguins, meerkats and giraffes; relax in the walled gardens; or ride the train that loops around the park.
For convenience, outdoor taps and water bowls for thirsty dogs are situated around the park, whilst free poop bags are available from the pay kiosk.

If you’re staying in the Peak District, Crich Tramway Village is a great day out for all the family, including your dog.
As the home of the National Tramway Museum, there are vintage trams to ride, while the period street with its shops, tearooms and pub also take you on a journey back in time. Other attractions include the Woodland Walk, a Lead Mining Display and a picnic area with views over the Amber Valley.
Dogs on a lead are allowed to travel on the floor of the lower decks of trams and can go nearly everywhere else too (apart from the cafe and the indoor children’s play area).

Take a boat trip on one of Windermere Lake Cruises’ historic steamers or modern launches to see England’s largest lake, mountain scenery, secluded bays and wooded islands.
Feel the summer breeze through your hair… or fur, on a variety of routes that depart from Ambleside, Brockhole, Bowness or Lakeside Pier. Dogs travel free, but they must stay off the seats.
There’s the option to either stay onboard for a roundtrip or to get off and go walking to stretch the legs and explore points of interest such as Wray Castle, before catching a later boat back.

As a treat for your four-legged friend when you’re visiting the Cotswolds, we like the Doggy Afternoon Tea at Widbrook Grange in Bradford on Avon.
Served between 12pm and 5pm each day, the Afternoon Tea includes a choice of Lily’s Kitchen wet food, organic dog biscuits and a ‘puppichino’. Or, if they’ve been a particularly good boy or girl, you can splash out on a small bottle of ‘Pawsecco’ for them. They will even get a tennis ball to take home for a game of fetch later.

It’s a fact, most dogs love the beach. Providing it’s not too hot, there are few better pleasures on a summer’s day for a fun-loving dog than running along the sand and splashing about in the sea.
From Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth) in North Wales to Mexico Towans Beach near St Ives in Cornwall (both currently open to dogs all year round), many beaches across the UK are dog friendly.
However, some don’t allow pets during the summer or have specific visiting times or zones for dogs, so before you get your pooch all excited, try checking the beach guide.

From Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to National Parks there are plenty of fabulous places to make the most of the great outdoors with your pooch.
From the Yorkshire Dales with their lush hills and country pub beer gardens where you can stop for a drink, to the cool of the Gwydir Forest in Snowdonia, there’s somewhere for every dog.
Why not add a heritage site into the mix too? Many managed by English Heritage, the National Trust, National Trust for Scotland and Cadw (Wales) welcome dogs in the grounds. For example, Culzean Castle in Ayrshire gets a big ‘paws up’ for its dog-friendly trails through a country park, woodland and walled garden, plus there’s also a beach.
