  • About the property

Nestled at the edge of the Lake District, The Old Vicarage is sure to impress from the moment you arrive. This historic property has links to the 4th Barron of Muncaster and was designed by the famous architect William White. The attention to detail is immaculately displayed through opulent interiors and designs, while the retained features brim with character and charm. You will have access to a host of luxurious amenities including a games room, a cinema room and a sunken hot tub in the private garden, while the multiple living spaces provide the perfect setting to socialise and entertain.

  • The space

Step through the lovingly restored church door and into the hallway where the Victorian floor tiles pave the way, and the exposed wooden beams encapsulate the rich history of the property. Fashioned with a harmonious blend of period-style décor and contemporary styles, it is a true sign of what the rest of the house has in store.

The light and spacious living room is a fantastic place to relax and unwind after a day in the countryside. It features a striking bay window with a handcrafted bench, plus two plush velvet sofas, a Smart TV and an original open fire. Should you wish to gather for an evening of entertainment, the self-play piano will provide the soundtrack to any occasion.

There is also an additional sitting room with an L-shaped sofa (which can be converted into a sofa bed) and a Smart TV if you wish to escape for some peace and quiet. Also equipped with a PlayStation 4, children can enjoy their own lounge area yet still be near the main living room.

Continue into the open-plan kitchen/dining room where you will have access to a range of high-tech appliances including two electric ovens, a combination oven and microwave, a wood-pellet powered range oven, an induction hob and a boiling/chilled and sparkling water tap. Meanwhile, the 14-seater dining table provides the perfect place to socialise together, whether savouring a delicious meal, sipping on the finest of wines or chatting about your day.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a handy utility room with an American-style fridge/freezer, a barista coffee machine, a washing machine, a 9kg tumble dryer and two state-of-the-art dishwashers.

The ground floor is complete with a cloakroom where you can store your coats and shoes, plus a luxurious wet room featuring a rainfall shower, a hand-held shower and a WC.

Venture up the winding staircase to the first floor where you will find six luxurious bedrooms. Each room has been carefully designed with stylish and complementary interiors, while the high-quality soft furnishings tie everything together perfectly. There are three king-size bedrooms with en-suite facilities (two of which are zip and link), a double bedroom with an en-suite and two further king-size bedrooms (one of which is zip and link) with access to the shared hallway bathroom.

There is also a dedicated workspace on the landing should you wish to work remotely throughout your stay. The house is equipped with ultrafast broadband reaching download speeds of up to 200mbs.

Head up a second flight of stairs to the ultimate entertaining space. You will first be greeted by the coffee lounge with two sumptuous sofas, a barista coffee machine, a wine fridge and patio doors leading to a balcony overlooking the garden and fells beyond. It is the perfect space to relax, listen to music, play board games, or simply enjoy a coffee or a chilled glass of Champagne. Continue through the secret bookcase door and step into the high-tech games room where there are hours of fun to be had. Here, you will have access to a retro arcade machine with nearly 15,000 games that will take you back to your youth, table football, a jukebox and a karaoke machine. It does not stop there, double doors lead to the impressive cinema room with tiered seating, a 98” projector screen and a 7.1 Dolby Atmos surround sound system for a fully immersive experience, whether you’re watching a movie or playing the latest games on the PlayStation 5 in 4K.

Outside, there is a large lawned garden with a children’s play area and plenty to keep you busy when the sun is shining. Relax in the sunken hot tub, cook delicious alfresco meals in the outdoor kitchen or on the BBQ and gather around the fire pit for an evening of chatter as the sky fills with stars.
