With the stunning back-drop of the Perthshire countryside and Cairngorms National Park, the sympathetically and lovingly restored seven bedroom castle is a fantastic base to enjoy time away with friends or family in the Highlands of Scotland. Activities on offer range from hiking, cycling, riding and golf to dining, whisky tasting and relaxing around the open fire in the Great Hall. When the snow starts to fall, skiing and snowboarding can also be enjoyed in the surrounding mountains.
Ogilvie Castle is laid out over five floors all accessed by a spiral staircase. This amazing accommodation has been restored and interior designed to an extremely high specification. Sleeping sixteen guests in separate rooms, each with their own individual character, makes the castle a stay to remember. The rooms benefit from storage heaters which make the evenings warm and cosy whatever the season. The Great Hall, with its elaborately hand painted ceiling is perfect for everyone to gather to dine, relax, dance, read and generally just enjoy time together.
A state-of-the-art fully fitted Chalon kitchen with a large range cooker and dishwasher make meal times an experience in itself, especially with a wide range of Le Creuset cooking equipment and all the utensils you can think of. Deliveries can be ordered from one of the recommended local suppliers or external catering for all or part of your stay can be arranged.
On the first floor, the Great Hall is a fabulous space for living and entertaining and is the heart of the house. Spanning the entire width of the property and furnished in a traditional style it's the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The magnificent dining table comfortably seats sixteen and is fit for a banquet. Spend the evening seated by the roaring fire in the inglenook with a whisky in hand. There is a split staircase on this floor that leads to one of the four posted double bedrooms.
To the second floor in the master bedroom you will find a king size four poster Ralph Lauren bed, exquisite decor and its own turret. Features include beautiful antiques, grand paintings, a large sofa and open plan screened bathroom with roll top bath and free standing brass Drummonds shower.
To the third floor is a king size double room with four poster bed and to the fourth floor two more double rooms, one with en-suite shower room with WC. On this floor there is also the main bathroom with shower over the bath. Finally to the first floor where four singles can be found that could be linked up to make two doubles.
The owners will provide access instructions and a housekeeper can meet you at the property.
The castle has under-floor heating to the ground floor and its own private water supply. If you would like to offset the carbon emissions from your trip get in touch and we can arrange this for a small fee.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.
Cancellations: Cancellations more than 6 months before check-in are subject to a partial refund of 25% of the deposit.
Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you're legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.
Security deposit: A refundable security deposit of £1,500 is payable (£2,000 for weddings or events) and will be charged a month prior to check in and returned 4 weeks following your stay.
Maximum occupancy: 16 guests (can be increased to 24 with extra charges).
Pet Friendly: Three well behaved dogs are allowed by prior arrangement with the owner at an additional fee of £30 per dog

Being only just over 1.5 hour drive from Edinburgh, guests can enjoy the central Highland location that permits access to a wonderful variety of options from shooting, golf, fishing, hiking, shopping, historical tours, whisky tasting etc. the options available are only limited by the time you have.
We would recommend travelling by car so that you can easily explore the local area. The property offers plenty of private off-street parking. Nearest airports are Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow. By Train Edinburgh and Pitlochry are the stations nearest. One special option is to take the overnight sleeper from Euston using the Caledonian sleeper which can be a wonderfully relaxing experience.
