Why we love this

  • Spacious and luxurious apartment with an abundance of charming historic features
  • Sip drinks on the private outdoor terrace while admiring the stunning views
  • Perfect base to explore East Hanney, Wantage and the historic city of Oxford and The Cotswolds

Set over two floors with a wheelchair-accessible lift, this spectacular historic penthouse begins with an open-plan living space on the second floor of a former mill. Unique artwork and décor are perfectly placed to complement the wonderful character and charm of this Grade II listed building.

The luxurious living room is a fantastic place to relax and unwind with its three comfortable sofas, Smart TV and decorative stone fireplace, while dinner can be cooked in the glass-walled kitchen and enjoyed together around the 12-seater antique dining table. You will have everything needed to self-cater with ease, including a gas oven and hob, a microwave, traditional coffee presses, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a wine cooler.

There are four individually designed bedrooms with high-quality soft furnishings and modern fixtures. On the second floor, there is a master bedroom with a super-king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe and an accessible en-suite with a walk-in shower, and a shower seat available on request.

There is also a super-king (which can be made into twin beds if required) with en-suite shower room and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom each. The antique French spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine level study area with pool table and folding doors leading onto the roof terrace, while on the opposite side of the building, stairs lead to a further super-king room.

Outside, you will have access to a private roof terrace which is adjacent to the fourth bedroom and a lawned area within the grounds alongside the charming Letcombe Brook, with outdoor dining furniture and a BBQ. (Children and pets must be supervised at all times).

The owners will greet you on arrival and show you into the property and show you how everything works.

The Mill is a national award winner for its sustainability and was the first Grade II Listed Carbon Neutral building in the whole country (more information can be found at the property).

If you would like to offset the carbon emissions from your trip, get in touch and we can arrange this for a small fee.
