Why we love this

  • A beautifully restored stone house on a 4,500-acre estate with rolling countryside views
  • Designed with socialising in mind with its open-plan layout and five en-suite bedrooms
  • A tour of the estate’s 1950s hydroelectric plant and Monzie Castle is available upon request

Luxurious interiors run throughout this contemporary house, while the traditional Scottish craftsmanship creates a comfortable and homely feel.

The open-plan living space is located at the heart of the house with its spacious lounge, dining room and kitchen. There is comfortable seating arranged perfectly around the modern wood-burning stove and a Smart TV, with a broad selection of books and games available. There is plenty of space for the entire group to socialise.

Meanwhile, the open-plan kitchen/dining room has a fully-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and induction hob, a large fridge/freezer plus an additional fridge, a dishwasher and two coffee machines, plus a large dining area with seating for at least 12 guests.
The ground floor is complete with a handy WC.

There are five stylish and spacious en-suite bedrooms, two of which are located on the first floor with a super-king-size zip and link bed and a king-size bed. On the second floor, there are three further bedrooms, two with king-size beds and one with a super-king-size zip and link bed. All bedrooms have their own tea and coffee facilities and seating area, a Smart TV, luxury toiletries and fluffy robes.

Outside, the garden has a pretty stream and a back garden with seating for alfresco dining.

Guests are sent an information pack with access information and direction. The owners, who live nearby, are on hand for any questions and assistance if needed.

The house is powered using 100% renewable electricity and the drinking water is sourced from the local spring. The team have made an effort to use sustainable and British products where possible, such as Baavet duvets (wool), hand-made beds, eco friendly cleaning products, etc.

If you would like to offset the carbon emissions from your trip, get in touch and we can arrange this for a small fee.

The neighbourhood

The cottage is set in the hamlet of Monzie, on a 4,500-acre farming estate, with walks from the door. While nature-lovers should keep their eyes peeled for local wildlife including red squirrels, hares, red kites and deer. Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that there are an abundance of excellent courses in the area including the Gleneagles Golf Courses, Crieff Golf Club and for those looking for a quick nine holes, the Foulford Course is a mile away.

The market town of Crieff is just 6 minutes away and known for its fantastic choice of restaurants and cafes, with the closest being Glenturret Distillery and Michelin Starred Lalique Restaurant. The Glenturret Distillery is well worth a visit and offers the opportunity to learn the handcrafting process of whisky production, they also have an excellent café, which makes a nice walk from the house.
