Location

The neighbourhood

The location is semi-rural and once you’re settled in, there isn’t any need for a car if you simply want a relaxing stay with fine Peak District country walks from the door, such as to Eyam or Wardlow. The local village of Foolow is about a 5 to 10-minute stroll away and is very pretty with limestone houses, a duck pond and a popular pub that serves good local ales and food.
The nearest shops are approximately 3 miles away in Eyam. If you want more choice of places to eat and drink, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs in neighbouring villages and towns. Bakewell is just a 10-minute drive away and here foodies should check out the fine dining options at Fischer Baslow Hall, while history buffs should head to Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. The spa town of Buxton is also a short drive, of about 20 minutes, and is a lovely place to explore.
If you’re looking for more action, activities including abseiling, rock-climbing, guided walks and cycling can be pre-arranged for you, please ask our Guest Services team for details.

Getting around

A car is advised for travelling to this property and the ease of getting around. However, there is a bus stop nearby and a local train station.
