Housed in an annexe within the grounds of the owners’ family home, once the home of Dunkirk hero Admiral Sir William George Tennant, and also the Morgan family of motoring fame, Hidden Hayloft is a little gem. Access via a private front door, off a private courtyard, assures privacy, whilst the vaulted ceilings and white walls add to the feeling of space.

Decoration throughout is unfussy and contemporary with details including quirky printed lampshades, cowhide rugs and vintage wooden storage crates amongst the things that give it a bespoke feel.

In the bedroom you’ll find a king-size bed, with a zip and link mattress that can be converted into two singles, giving flexibility for a couple or two friends. There is also a delightful feature fireplace. A further double bed or twin beds can be set up in the lounge area, to sleep up to four guests in total, making the hayloft a great space for a small family too.

The lounge area is spacious and features a large comfortable sofa, bean bag seat, daybed and smart TV. The open plan layout incorporates a high table with two stools for dining, and there is a kitchen area beyond it. The kitchen features a microwave and plug-in hob so is best suited to fixing breakfast, snacks and simple meals, rather than anything more complicated.

Outside, there is a courtyard garden with a patio table and seating for four people, so if you fancy lunch or a glass of wine in the evening al fresco, it’s a serene place to unwind.

The property has a private front door and guests can let themselves in using the key in the lock-box. However, if you would prefer to meet the owners (who live in the grounds) on arrival, this can be arranged with prior notice. Please note that the property is accessed by climbing stairs.

If you'd like to offset the carbon emissions from your trip get in touch and we can arrange this for a small fee.

Location

The neighbourhood

The name of the game at Hidden Hayloft is relaxation and there are lots of tranquil walks to be enjoyed from your front door. Less than a mile away is the gorgeous riverside town of Upton-Upon-Severn where you can stock up on supplies, shop in the charming shops or pop into the local pub. The town also hosts a variety of popular events each year, including the Jazz, Folk, Blues and Sunshine Festivals. The hayloft is also a great place to stay if you’re attending the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, while the Cotswolds are also within easy driving distance.

Getting around

We recommend travelling here by car which will allow you to explore the local area easily. The M5/M50 are a short distance away, making access easy and there is plenty of private off street parking on the property. However, trains run directly from London Paddington – via the Cotswolds and Malverns line – to the nearest station of Pershore. The property is also close to the centres of Malvern, Worcester, Gloucester and Cheltenham.
