About the propertySet in a private, family-run estate in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Crane Lodge is a lovely holiday home for a family of four to enjoy a break brimming with superb countryside views, walks through the glen, bike rides around the loch and opportunities to explore the Highlands.
The spaceCrane Lodge is a recently refurbished lodge which is light, bright and airy, decorated in neutral colours and with the occasional nod to its location, such as the tartan curtains. However, you only have to look outside to see the typical Highlands scenery of clusters of pine trees, the green glen and towering mountains, to remind you exactly where in the world you are.
The open-plan living area makes it easy to spend quality time together here and reconnect as a family. As you step in through the glass sliding patio door and into the lounge space, you’ll find a comfortable sofa, TV entertainment system with Blu Ray DVD and SKY access, along with a fitted kitchen area with everything you could need to cook for your brood, plus a table and chairs to seat you all comfortably.
There are two bedrooms; the master with a king-size bed and the second bedroom with twin beds, all dressed with Egyptian cotton bed linen. There is also space in fitted wardrobes and drawers to find a home for all of your belongings. A family bathroom, off the living area, comprises a bath with shower over that’s supplied by a pressurised hot water system.
Outside there is a private balcony that faces to the south, making it a great choice for families who like to sit out in the sunshine on warm summer days. Plus, there are incredible views of Ben More to be enjoyed from here too. You can also hire a gas BBQ, which will be delivered to the lodge, so that you can enjoy burgers and hot dogs cooked exactly how you and your little ones like them.
Guest accessOn arrival at the privately-owned estate on which the lodge is located, there is a reception area for check-in, before driving on to Crane Lodge where there is a dedicated space to park your car.
SustainabilityGuests are asked to sort their plastics, glass and paper and deposit them in the recycling bins provided, whilst food waste can be recycled in the composting bins.
The estate is a rich habitat for a plethora of local wildlife including deer, red squirrels and pine martens, as well as a host of birds. Bird boxes, bird feeders and bat boxes are positioned in the grounds to help bird and bat populations to thrive. You can also buy bird food from the on-site shop to fill up feeders and encourage feathered friends yourself.
If you’d like to help further with the estate’s sustainability programme, you can donate to adopt a tree which will be planted in a spot of your choice. You can even purchase a plaque to commemorate the occasion or dedicate the tree to a loved one.
