The cottage begins with a handy porch with enough storage for shoes and coats. After a day of exploring, slip off your wellie boots and head to the cosy living room which is brimming with character and sets the tone for what the rest of the cottage has in store. Exposed wooden beams and unique antiques provide the finishing touches, whilst three comfortable sofas and a Smart TV make for the perfect place to socialise and relax beside the toasty log-burning stove.

The country-style kitchen is a particularly sociable space with its open-plan layout and eight-seater dining table. You will have access to an Aga from the beginning of October to the end of April depending on the weather, an electric oven, a dishwasher, an American-style fridge/freezer, a kettle and a microwave, so you can truly self-cater with ease throughout your stay. There is also a small TV and a radio to use at your own leisure.

The conservatory offers an additional living space where you can nestle into the inviting sofas to read, play a board game or gather around the additional eight-seater dining table for a bite to eat. When the day draws to a close, make use of the spotting scopes for some late-night stargazing in this idyllic and tranquil location.

The ground floor also features a well-equipped utility room which comprises a washing machine, a tumble dryer and an additional fridge/freezer, plus a separate WC with a shower.

Venture upstairs where you will find four stunning bedrooms, each with breathtaking views of the countryside and sumptuously soft furnishings. There is a king-sized bedroom with a four-poster bed and an en-suite shower room, a super-king size bed with a zip and link to form two singles and an en-suite shower room. Finally, the double bedroom and the adult-sized bunk bedroom both share the family bathroom with a double-ended bath and a mixer shower tap.

The outside space is what can only be described as the jewel in the crown of this property. For alfresco dining, you will have access to an outdoor kitchen with a hot water tap and an all-weather dining dome which features an eight-seater rattan table with a Lazy Susan and a wine cooler. Meanwhile, the undercover hot tub and sofa provide the perfect setting to admire the panoramic countryside views. Additionally, there is a stunning lawned garden, ample seating, a fire pit, a mini pizza oven and a gas BBQ.

The cottage is accessed via electric gates and the owners will greet you on arrival and show you into the property.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.

Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you are legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.

The cottage is located in picturesque countryside near Holmfirth and is surrounded by peaceful walking and cycling routes. If you venture down the hill towards the double pond, a quaint nature walk known as Squirrels Retreat provides the perfect place to absorb the environment, enjoy delicious picnics and spot a few squirrels along the way. The owners also offer a farm tour which is perfect for children who are allowed to meet, greet and feed the animals, including Betty and Barbara the rare breed pigs and Veronica the sheep.

Within walking distance, Hade Edge village provides two farm shops and a pub with its own micro-brewery which serves delicious food. Just 2 miles away is the village of Holmfirth, which is home to more pubs, bars, restaurants, shops and The Picturedrome, a great music venue where live bands and artists perform throughout the year.
