    Set in the small but picturesque Cotswolds village of Coberley, situated close to both Cheltenham and Cirencester. This delightful cottage is perfectly positioned for total relaxation; tucked away in a particularly peaceful part of the village, this place is ideal for two couples or a group of friends to escape life’s usual stresses and enjoy good company and the slow pace. A stay here is all about the simple pleasures of catching up over casual dinners, listening to the birdsong from your secluded garden and beautiful walks through the countryside that start straight from your door.

  • The space

    This semi-detached cottage is cosy and warm, just right for a laid-back holiday in the Cotswolds with good friends.

    On the ground floor, there's a delightful kitchen with everything you will need to self-cater, including an oven and an induction hob, a microwave and a coffee machine, as well as a dishwasher and a washing machine.

    Gather around the table in the dining room, where there’s a choice of chairs or bench seating, to enjoy a meal together. Or, if you all share the same love of a teatime show there’s a Smart TV in here so that you can watch as you eat. Plus, there’s a cabinet where you can store all your shoes and coats ready for your next day of walking.

    In the sitting room there are two sofas, a wood-burner, another Smart TV, while the snug room has a two-seater velvet chair and a rocking chair with a selection of books, giving you the option of quiet time reading or watching a film together.

    Upstairs are the two bedrooms, each with a double bed and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for your belongings. There is also a bathroom with a bath and a rainfall shower over.

    At the front of the property is the enclosed and secluded garden which has a table and chairs. It’s a charming spot to enjoy lunch or a glass of wine on a warm summer’s evening.

    Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

    Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 prior to their stay. An advance payment of 3% of the rental price can be made to waive this requirement.

    Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you're legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.

Barley cottage lies within a small, picturesque village in the Churn Valley known for its beautiful walking and horse-riding terrain. Amazing country walks begin on the Gloucestershire way from the door of the cottage and there are plenty more to enjoy locally.

Meanwhile, in the neighbouring villages, you’ll find a selection of amenities including a good pub, a small store and a farm shop. For a special treat, head to Cowley Manor hotel for afternoon tea, dinner

If you like to cook, why not pre-book a day course at the Foodworks Cookery School? It’s just a 5-minute drive away and offers the opportunity to perfect a range of cuisine styles. Using your newfound skills to create a memorable meal back at the cottage is an excellent way to celebrate your time away.

If you’re looking for more leisure pursuits, there’s golf at Lilley Brook Golf Course, or how about outdoor swimming in the pool at Sandford Parks Lido? It’s open in the autumn for cold-water swimming too

If and when you do crave a little bit more action, Cheltenham is only about 6 miles or a 10-minute drive away. Offering a host of shops and restaurants, as well as cultural attractions including literary and music festivals, it’s a great place to spend a couple of hours or the whole day.

Getting around

Due to the rural location, a car is advised for travelling to the property and ease of getting around. The nearest train station is Cheltenham which is about 6.5 miles away and there is a train service to London Paddington.
